The work you see has been developed for over 20 years - some of the original designs date back even further, from his days as a portrait artist using a pencil and paper. Wood then became the preferred medium for Charles to share with you his passion and his eye for stunning and timeless beauty.
Charles does everything by hand. Starting with a photo or a scene in front of him, he translates that into a hand-drawn pattern. He then transfers that pattern to wood and begins the meticulous journey from vision to masterpiece. Every piece he creates requires hundreds of individual cuts - leaving just one piece of wood - the beauty you see here.
Creating pieces up to 60 inches (five feet) wide, Charles brings nearly unfathomable detail to each and every piece.
Charles lives in small-town Texas with his wife Karen. He, his twin brother and two older sisters, are part of a tight-knit family topped off by a career Green Beret, as well as a loving mother - parents who have been married for over 50 years.
